S-360 Back-office on Chrome, Edge and Firefox
Finally! After the recent changes made to allow the latest Firefox version to be used for the S-360 back-office, we are now also officially supporting Chrome and Edge.
Solution
On paper, the solution was pretty easy… just make it work on both Chrome and Edge! However, other than the well-known none-standard differences between browsers, the main challenge was to update our device manager, which manages the interactions between the browser and the hardware: printers, TPE, etc.
Getting started
Prerequisite
It may sound obvious but first ensure you have a supported browser installed, i.e., Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
Installation
Install the Device Hub Manager. See the installation guide for details.
Troubleshooting
How to check that the installation was successful?
System tray icon: The Device Hub Manager icon should be displayed in your system tray.
Desktop shortcut: A shortcut should be available on the desktop or in the application list.
SSL certificate: An SSL certificate should be installed in the system.
Workstation detection:
Open a browser and access http://127.0.0.1:8558
Make sure you use http (not https) and the port number is 8558.
Your workstation name nameshould be displayed.
Known issues:
When you want to display S-360 on another screen or beamer the setting to perform is different if you are working on chrome or on Edge.
Browser | Settings | Display |
Edge |
| You will see an animation prompting you to click and view the notification
|
Chrome |
| It is opened directly

Old Firefox Kit
If you still have the old Firefox Kit installed, you can keep it as a backup until end of October 2025.
Device Hub on Mac
The recommendation for Back Office on MAC is to use Chrome, not Safari.
With Chrome on Mac operator can:
Use the back-office screens (except ticket template editor)
Use the hack link to have the workstation set and access to some screen at Sales Context.
However, printing and proximity payment are not possible
